I told him to just transfer the Dvd folder to his 2tb backup drive and just burn copies from that as he needs them. Now i just need to get my friend to add his chapter marks when he does his initial editing to his 1080/50p mts files, so when he smart renders the file to 1080/50p mp4 as his archive file, there will always be chapter markers in those, ready to go to Dvd if he needs to.Ĭlick to expand.Thx Dan, my friend has now informed me after a lot of time on my part to get him to create mpeg2 program streams first, then author and burn those as he needs to is a better way to do it, but he insists on putting so many chapters in his videos, so he is going to Author his 1080/50p files to his Hdd as a Dvd folder, check the IFO file for chapters, and check that the rest of the video is ok, then he will burn it, after that, he say he will delete the Dvd folder from his Hdd, and if anyone wants a copy he will put the Dvd in his computer and make a copy, but that involves putting it in his dvd drive, copying the AUDIO and VIDEO_TS folders to his Hdd, then burn those to a new Disc. Click to expand.I dont want to do the edits and title on the 1080/50p mts file and output direct to Dvd, i want to convert to a pal mpeg2 file first so i have the physical mpeg2 file on the hdd to check before importing that into VRD to author and burn, just odd that the edited file adds the markers to the smart rendered 1080/50p mp4 and the 720/50p mp4 but not an mpeg2 file.Īnyway, if i load the edited 1080/50p mp4 or m2ts file that has the markers in it, and i choose the "create DVD" option, all i get is the Dvd structured folder but no mpeg2 file, but at least when i open the Dvd folder and play the IFO file with MPC-hc or vlc i can see the markers, so that at least tells me they are indeed going to be present in the burnt Dvd, so based on that, i am happy, but having the markers appear in an mpeg2 file would still be preferable as well.
